Traffic update: Wilmore Road, Derby, re-opened following crash

Wilmore Road has re-opened after it was closed earlier this morning following a three car collision close to the Rolls Royce site.

Traffic is still slow travelling through St Alkmund's Way and on king Street due to work going on in the area.

SWARKESTONE Road, Derby, is now open after a crash caused serious delays in the area. There is still some slow moving traffic in the area.

Police are still dealing with the aftermath of an accident on Wilmore Road near Rolls Royce. A fuel spill caused by the accident is being cleared.

The work taking place on St Alkmund's Way is also causing problems particularly on the A6 King Street as it enters the inner ring road.

08.55am -

Two car collision on A38 closes one lane northbound on A38 near Burton.

The accident occurred after a car entering the dual carriageway was hit by another vehicle at the Clay Mills slip road.

Traffic is said to be very heavy in the area and police are on route to the accident.

08.45am -

A FIVE car crash has closed the A514 from the A50 to the Chellaston Academy.

The accident, which occurred at around 7.40, has totally closed the road with recovery of the vehicles not expected until at least 9am.

There are no serious injuries however fire crews had to cut two people free from the accident.

08.20am -

TRAFFIC is queueing along the westbound carriageway from Borrowash into Pentagon Island. There has been no accident but traffic is moving slowly.

The A514 at Swarkestone Bridge is busy and Sir Frank Whittle Way is also queuing to the Pentagon Island.

Traffic is also beginning to build up around the bridge works on St Alkmund's Way.

07.39am -

A THREE car collision on Wilmore Road is causing chaos in the area as drivers begin their morning commute.

The accident where Wilmore Road meets Merril Way is causing queues with one driver being taken to hospital although their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

7.15am -

A yellow warning for ice is in place after temperatures plummeted last night in Derbyshire.

The Met Office has a yellow warning in place for ice across the county with drivers being urged to make their way carefully, particularly in the Peak.

But the Snake Pass and Woodhead Pass are both moving freely after being shut overnight due to snow fall yesterday.

In Derby traffic is moving well but the ongoing work on St Alkmund's Way is causing traffic problems on the A6 and surrounding routes around the city.

The eastbound A52 by Mackworth is also starting to slow due to road works heading to Markeaton Roundabout.
