Train-maker Bombardier lines up Bertling as new boss
BOMBARDIER has lined up a new man to help turn around its train-making business.
The firm, which has its UK manufacturing site in Litchurch Lane, Derby, is appointing Lutz Bertling as president of Bombardier Transportation.

Mr Bertling, who will be based at the company’s headquarters in Berlin, will leave his current post at European Aeronautic, Defence and Space Co and replace Andre Navarri from June 3, who is retiring.
He will be tasked with turning around the fortunes of the firm’s train-making business, which last year saw sales fall by 17%.

Last year, Bombardier announced plans to make millions of pounds worth of cutbacks, including shedding 1,200 jobs in its train division and the closure of a factory in Germany.
