Training opportunity at Derby County for Colorado quartet
FOUR players from American club Colorado Rapids will train with Derby County next week.
The Rapids hope the experience will help Andre Akpan, Tony Cascio, Chris Klute and Martín Rivero in their development.

Akpan is a 24-year-old forward, Cascio a 22-year-old midfielder, Klute a 22-year-old defender who made his debut for the Rapids in their final game of the season just completed and Rivero, 23, is an Argentine midfielder and the Rapids' young player of the year.
"This is a great opportunity for these young players to continue their development and gain valuable experience overseas," said Rapids' technical director, Paul Bravo.

President of Colorado Rapids is Tim Hinchey who spent three years at Derby in the role of vice president, commercial.
Hinchey said: "Having spent three years at Derby County, I know that our players will learn a great deal training with players of that calibre and quality.
"Nigel Clough is a great manager and somebody who has great respect for MLS and the Rapids, as he has visited us twice in the last two years."

“with our links in the US this is something we should have exploited years ago. Anyway, this is our chance to take a look at some young players. Young players now know that if they are good enough they get a chance at Derby.”
