Travel website guru to address Derbyshire tourism conference

A BOSS from the world’s largest travel website has been lined up to speak at a conference for Derbyshire businesses involved in the tourism industry.

Doros Theodorou, commercial director at Trip Advisor, will address this year’s Peak District and Derbyshire Tourism Conference.

He will speak to delegates from across Derbyshire about how to best promote their businesses.

Other speakers include Sharon Orrell, head of research and insight at Visit England who will talk about UK tourism trends and Brigid Simmonds, chairman of British Beer and Pub Association, who will speak on the role of pubs in the tourism experience.

Jim Oribine, head of industry services for Visit Peak District and Derbyshire, said: “We’re really excited about this year’s line up at our annual conference.

“There are some heavy weights of the tourism world coming to talk to local tourism providers about how to best promote their business.”

The conference, which will feature more than 50 exhibitors, will take place on Thursday, March 21, at Buxton’s Pavilion Gardens.
