“It is obviously a pity for the employees, but there are simply too many buses on most of the corridors they choose to compete on. When you are up against a quality operator like Trent, just charging bargain fares isn't enough. You need a lot of bums on seats to get the same revenue. It will be very interesting to see how the new Yourbus venture which starts next month competing head on with the Red Arrow fairs. I don't give it longer than 6 months.”

“This a shame for all at the company. It is hardly surprising though. I see so many buses following each others heels up and down the A6005 between Nottingham and Long Eaton that I would be surprised if Trent Barton are making any money. The Indigo, Skylink and Premier's 5 services just seem to chase each other around most of the day empty except at peak times due to ridiculous route allocation and subsidy processes imposed by the respective councils.
Trent Barton may seem kind to accept tickets, but their flooding of the routes may have been a contributing factor to Red's demise??”
