Trio cut free after two-vehicle crash

THREE people who had to be cut free from their cars following an accident in Derby did not suffer "life threatening or life changing" injuries.

The trio were injured in the smash which took place at 6.20pm in Merrill Way, Allenton, at the junction of Boulton Lane.

Firefighters had to cut the roof from two vehicles, a silver Nissan Micra and a grey Renault Laguna.

Paramedics and police were also at the scene and the three people were taken to Royal Derby Hospital for treatment.

A spokesman for Derbyshire Police last night said: "The information we have from East Midlands Ambulance Service is that none of the people received life threatening or life-changing injuries as a result of the accident."
