JUDGE Stephen Davies, who presided over yesterday's hearing, could take months to decide whether to quash the planning permission secured by RRS last year.

Equally, it could be "one or two weeks", Miss Skrytek's legal team said outside the courtroom yesterday.

Miss Skrytek said she was not concerned about how long a decision would take, just as long as it was the one she and her fellow campaigners want.

"If the judge takes a long time, that could be a good thing," she said. "It would mean he's really thinking about our case."

Present in court was Simon Bacon, of protest group Sinfin and Spondon Against Incineration (SSAIN).

He said: "I'm confident we will win. If we don't, we will then have to look at whether we can appeal again. We have to fight this until the very end."
