THE second Race For Life event has taken place in Derby today, with thousands of women and girls raising money for Cancer Research UK.

Darley Park has hosted two 5km races this weekend with organisers hoping to raise £400,000.

Among those who took part was Sue Curry, who has run the race for the past eight years and came first yesterday.

The 50-year-old, of Sutton Coldfield, ran in memory of her father-in-law, who died of lung cancer.

She said: "I think everybody's touched by cancer."

A four-page supplement is in tomorrow's Evening Telegraph.
