A van driver died this morning in a crash on the A38 near Derby.
The incident, involving a lorry and two vans, happened between Coxbench and Ripley at around 5.50am.
The A38, which was closed northbound between Little Eaton and Ripley for up to nine hours has now been reopened. Today is statistically the most dangerous day of the year and will see more road accidents than on any other day, based on analysis of car crash data from the last four years.
