VIDEO: Red Nose Day leg waxing in Derbyshire (WITH PICTURES)
It’s the 25th anniversary of Comic Relief and fundraisers in Derbyshire have put their leg hairs on the line to help raise money on Red Nose Day.
Leg waxing is as popular as ever this year with men allowing their colleagues to tease them while they endure the painful treatment.

Mick Oldfield, 52, the customer service manager at Ilkeston’s Town Hall, was brave enough to have his legs waxed on Friday morning - raising more than £300 - which will go towards funding projects across the UK and Africa.

“It was my colleague’s idea to do this and first of all I said absolutely no chance, but they said they’d raise at least £100 so how could I not if they were going to do that.
“I’ve never had my legs waxed before I don’t know how much it’s going to hurt but I try not to think about it.
“I’ve known it’s been happening for three weeks and it’s too long.”
Staff members at Sainsbury’s in Wyvern Way, in Derby, were also in on in on the waxing, with seven of them taking to the treatment table throughout the course of the day.
Trevor West was the unfortunate one who was caught on film.
The superstore is in partnership with Comic Relief and they are running a whole range of fundraising activities throughout the day.
Store assistants have ran a tombola, cake sales, a ‘name the bear’ game and a Red Nose Day treasure hunt.
The estimated total of funds raised is £1800.

“I prefer to sponsor activities that in some way are a benefit to the community - there are plenty of things that could be done.”
