VIDEO: Youngsters at Redwood Primary School are strictly excited to meet with TV dancing duo
PUPILS at a Derby school have been brushing up on their footwork and getting their jazz hands ready to meet stars from TV hit show Strictly Come Dancing.
Ten pupils at Redwood Primary School, in Sinfin, are set to meet professional dancers Anton du Beke and Erin Boag.
The pupils have been given permission to see behind the scenes action at the rehearsal of Anton and Erin Goes To Hollywood on Tuesday prior to their performance at the Derby Assembly Rooms that evening.
Heather Johnson, teacher at the school, said: "We're all so excited."

Miss Johnson sent an e-mail to Erin Boag's agent asking if the children could see the celebrities – to which they agreed.
Miss Johnson said: "I sent an e-mail on the basis that if you don't try, you don't get. We didn't think anything would come of it – just to get a response saying they were looking into it was fantastic.
"When I got the e-mail saying we could go, I squealed!
"It's an opportunity for the children that they would never normally have. It's important to show them that they can aspire to go on to do great things with their lives."
Miss Johnson said pupils in each class of the school were tested on their knowledge of the BBC One show.
"We asked the children about ballroom dancing and what they knew about the TV programme," she said.
"We didn't tell the children about meeting Anton and Erin."
Then, ten pupils who expressed a particular interest were chosen to meet the dancers. Chater Kingu, four, who will be meeting the duo, said: "I'm excited because they will be wearing some nice sparkly clothes."
Quinn Coppen, aged four, and his sister Imogen, six, will both be meeting the stars. Imogen said she was happy to meet them because she "really liked dancing".
And Aquib Ahmed, nine, said: "I'm excited to meet some famous people!"
Anton and Erin have been touring in the show since last month. The duo have been dance partners since 1997. They turned professional in 2002 and the following year won the IDTA Classic Championships in England.
They now both appear on Strictly Come Dancing.
This week, Redwood Primary School has held a creative arts week to promote, dance, drama, art and music. Pupils took part in dance sessions, African drumming classes and completed artwork based around a chosen artist.
Miss Johnson said it was a "great prelude" to meeting the stars next week. She said: "Now we are all really excited to see Anton and Erin."
