IT has been announced that the Queen has approved the official regulations and design for the award of the Australian General Service Medal for Korea.

Former defence force personnel who completed 30 days participating in operations in South Korea during the post-armistice period from July 28, 1953, to April 19, 1956, are entitled to claim the medal.

No such luck for British Korean veterans.

It seems the British Government will not ask the Queen.

Once again the Commonwealth is keen to recognise their veterans, while the UK snubs them at every opportunity.
