VOLUNTEERS are being sought to help support families in Amber Valley and Erewash.

Amber Valley CVS is looking for the help.

Those who come forward could work with social care services on education, health and with the police and the voluntary sector.

The families in question have children aged up to 19.

Angela Quinn, community development manager, said: "We have many in need and we would really welcome the support of volunteers."

They will be provide practical support and help improve quality of life.

This could be through helping families get training, via emotional support for parents or by doing paperwork.

Those interested are asked to complete a free, no-test course. The course is for two hours a week for four weeks and all four sessions must be attended.

Training courses are held at the Amber Valley CVS office in Ripley and the volunteers will be based there. For more information call 01773 512076.
