Waiting game for Rogers
CHRIS Rogers has had a scan that will determine whether or not he has played his last game for Derbyshire.
The Australian batsman sat out the Falcons' final CB40 fixture against Middlesex, the county he is to join next season, because of a knee injury.
It has been a problem for several weeks, though Rogers was able to play in the Championship matches against Middlesex and Gloucestershire.
Though he says he is keen to sign off his three years with Derbyshire by playing in their last Championship match against Glamorgan at Cardiff, starting on September 13, Rogers has also got to be wary of doing further damage before returning to his state side, Victoria, for the new domestic season in Australia.
"The knee is very sore and it's not getting any better, so I went for the scan to see if that shows what the problem is," he said.
"There's still a week until we go to Glamorgan and I would like to play in that game but we'll have to wait and see what the scan results are."
Rogers has been Derbyshire's leading run-scorer in the Championship this season, with 1,243 runs, the second-highest aggregate in the division, at an average of 53.50.
