Walk with a purpose
MATTHEW Davies is hoping to raise hundreds of pounds from a charity walk for the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance Service.
Mr Davies, of Melbourne, began collecting for the service after it rushed his father, Walter, to hospital when he suffered a heart attack 37 years ago.
He has raised thousands of pounds in recent years by walking through Calke Abbey and is now preparing for his next outing, at Carsington Water, on August 8.
During his last walk, Mr Davies raised £496 and hopes to collect a similar amount this time. Anyone wishing to sponsor him should call Derby 865916.
