Warning for driver who pulled youths in inflatable tube
A 22-YEAR-OLD motorist has been warned about his driving after he was spotted pulling youths – who were sitting in an inflatable tube – along icy roads.
Police received two calls about the incident, at Hartshorne. The first came from a resident, in Goseley Avenue, on Monday at noon, while the second was made by someone in Hartshill Road, at 1pm.
Officers arrived to catch the man, of Woodville, pulling the youths with his Audi A3. They said a rope had been tied to the rear bumper and around the inner tube.
Inspector Paul Cannon, in charge of policing in South Derbyshire, said: "Those concerned must have thought this was a bit of fun but there was no regard to safety. We warned the motorist and those involved of the dangers and offered some very strong advice."
