Weather update: Snow across Derby expected to clear by morning

SNOW across Derby is set to clear following rain this evening, according to the Met Office.

Sleet is expected to hit the city at about 6pm, with rain continuing throughout the evening.

After tomorrow morning, a period of dry weather for the next five days is forecast with temperatures set to increase to eight degrees.

Trent Barton buses has announced its 6.3 route cannot serve Park Avenue, in Heage.

The 6.1 service is now using the A6 only and cannot stop in Wirksworth, while the 6.4 is operating from Derby to Belper only.

The 6.2 route from Belper to Ripley is suspended as well as the 7.2 route. The amberline is not operating through Aldercar.

Highfields School, in Matlock has closed early today due to the current and forecast weather conditions.

Both sites at the school closed at 2.30pm. Students can remain in school until arrangements can be made to return home.
