Wilson delighted to secure services of Reid permanently
ILKESTON have secured the services of James Reid on a permanent basis after his contract with AFC Telford United was cancelled by mutual consent.
The 21-year-old utility player has impressed during a two-month loan spell at the New Manor Ground and he has now signed a deal with the Robins for the rest of this season and the next.

James Reid has made his move to Ilkeston permanent after leaving AFC Telford United.
"I couldn't be more pleased," said Ilkeston boss Kevin Wilson. "I can't claim it was particularly difficult to persuade him to sign for us because he has thoroughly enjoyed the last two months here and this is where he wants to be.
"James has shown that with his willingness to take a significant drop in wages and he feels that at this stage in his career, he wants to play part-time football.
"That's good news for us but like a lot of our lads, at 21 years of age, he hasn't yet missed the boat on a League career. It's down to him what he wants to achieve.
"I think there's a lot more to come if he applies himself properly and I think it's a brilliant thing for Ilkeston fans that we have James, Sam Duncum and Will McCall on our books.
"They are three lads who really excite me and it's my job to make sure we use them in a way that brings out the best in them – and benefits the team."
Meanwhile, Wilson has rejected Birmingham City's request to extend the trial of 17-year-old striker Tyrell Waite for a further fortnight.
Waite spent last week with the Championship club and played in two youth team matches.
"Birmingham have asked if Tyrell can stay with them for another two weeks but I don't think it's right for him to do so," said Wilson.
"I have to consider what is best for Ilkeston and the boy himself and I think it's only fair that he comes back.
"Birmingham are just one of several clubs who have shown an interest in Tyrell.
"They've had him for a week and he has played in two matches. That should be long enough for them to decide how they want to play it.
"Tyrell is a talented boy and, sooner or later, he will get the chance to move up.
"The word is out about him and if he keeps working hard and scoring goals, his chance will come."
Ilkeston entertain Leek Town in Evo-Stik Division One South tomorrow.
