Witnesses urged to come forward by murder-probe cops
OFFICERS investigating the killing of father-of-two Johnny Assani have issued another appeal for witnesses.
Examination of CCTV in the area shows that about 100 vehicles drove along Walbrook Road, in Derby, between 3.10pm and 3.25pm on August 14 – the day he was attacked.
Mr Assani, 43, of Harrington Street, Pear Tree, was assaulted in the street and died in Nottingham's Queen's Medical Centre the following day.
A police spokesman said: "Some of the drivers have come forward with information but there are still many who haven't. Some of the distinctive vehicles seen in the CCTV are a dark coloured people carrier, another Transit type van which appears to be a taxi and two yellow taxi cabs."
