Woman dies after fall in India resort
A 35-YEAR-OLD Derby woman has died in India.
Denyse Sweeney sustained head injuries in a restaurant in Goa.
Police told British authorities they believe she fell and hit her head. They are investigating the incident, which happened on April 16.
Ms Sweeney, who is from Normanton, was taken to hospital but declared dead.
A Foreign Office spokeswoman said: "We can confirm that a British national died in India on April 16.
"Consulate staff are in contact with next of kin."
Goa on the west coast of India is renowned for its beaches, places of worship and world heritage architecture.
It is visited by large numbers of tourists each year.
