Women, make a stand – walk beside your men
THE recent reporting of the violent and disgusting treatment of women in India must awaken feelings of guilt among those from that continent who have chosen the UK for settlement purposes.
The Derby Telegraph's readership, I know, covers a large cultural demographic spread across all social levels.
There those whose traditions insist upon their wives and mothers walking behind the men.
They must all now take a close look at this tradition and how it unsettles our own developed social values, which, in the age of equality, demeans their womenfolk.

I would commend all Asian women to have the courage, hold up their heads and to catch up with their husbands when out walking with them.

“It is time these men realised in Britain women are equal, not a commodity or owned. It is also time their wives thought and acted for themselves so yes walk beside your husband or let him in trail in your footsteps not in his.”
