The disease of dropped catches had spread to the

Worcestershire side on the second morning of their LV County

Championship match against Derbyshire at New Road.

After Derbyshire had been punished for giving Graeme Hick a

second life on the first day, the home side let three chances

slip through their fingers.

Chris Rogers was put down in the third over of the day by

wicketkeeper Stephen Davies on 16 but fell on 20 when he

top-edged a pull at Matt Mason and was caught by Gareth Andrew

at square leg.

Paul Borrington was dropped on 40 at first slip by Ben Smith

and on 48 at third slip by Daryl Mitchell but survived through

to lunch on 48 not out in a score of 111-2, with Wavell Hinds

nine not out.

The second wicket of the morning was Dan Birch as he edged

Andrew through to Davies for 21 on 97-2.
