Wright stuff for Royces seconds
IN the Wright Cup, Rolls-Royce seconds had some measure of revenge for the first team's Marston's Smooth Trophy defeat to Aston-on-Trent, comfortably beating Aston's seconds.
Royces made only 130 but Tanveer Kazmi took 6-11 in 5.1 overs to skittle Aston for 61.
They will play Mickleover, who kept Spondon thirds to 202-7 and then passed the target with almost six overs – although only two wickets – in hand.
In the James Harwood Cup semis, Sandiacre thirds' 152-8 looked inadequate against Derby Congs seconds but Congs were bowled out seven runs short in the last over of their reply.
Marehay thirds were comfortable 87-run winners over Codnor in the other semi-final.
The Harry Lund Cup final will be an all-Burton affair, after comfortable semi-final wins for Trentside and Winshill.
