Young proves he's more than just Ockbrook's fall guy
TEN days ago, Ockbrook's bowling hero on Saturday, Gareth Young, was lucky to escape serious injury in a bizarre accident.
His family home is at the Nag's Head pub in Borrowash and, after a night out in which he had forgotten his key, he fell from an upstairs window ledge after trying to shin up a drainpipe to get in.

But, aided by painkillers, he was back on the pitch to stall the Ticknall innings, with two mean spells adding up to 4-23 from 10 overs.
“I landed on my feet and my backside and I was there lying in agony on the pavement,” said Young.
“I couldn't move for an hour and I was shouting out for help.
“Obviously, I was outside a pub and cars were going by with people thinking: 'look at that drunken idiot!'
“I'm still very sore. I was running in like twinkle toes in my first spell, then the painkillers started kicking in and I could plant my heel down as I bowled.”
Young (pictured), often turned to only when there have been a couple of injuries in the first team in recent seasons, has finally established himself in the side with a series of tight spells of medium pace.
“I'm bowling well, getting more overs than I used to and really enjoying it,” he said.
“I've been around the club a long time, since I was about nine, and I'm loving it now, especially getting to play in things like the Cockspur Cup.”
