Four artists in frame as vote looms
ALVASTON residents will choose the artist who produces a piece of work for the district centre.
Derby City Council will hold an exhibition between 11am and 3pm on Saturday, at Alvaston Library, by four artists who will be available to discuss their proposals.
Residents will then get a chance to say which they like best.
The artwork is part of the regeneration of the district centre and comes after the completion of the first phase of the council's £4m improvement scheme.
Councillor Lucy Care, cabinet member for planning and transport, said: "I hope that lots of people will go and have a look at the artists' ideas and comment on these, and so help shape the way Alvaston District Centre will look in the future."
Funding for the artwork is still to be settled.
