“ We recently spent the day at Sudbury Hall and Museum of Childhood with our young children and we had a really wonderful day. We were blessed with fairly good weather to start the day, so we were able to have picnic lunch in the grounds over looking the lake, which is really beautiful. The children enjoyed some time on the excellent woodland play area before we went inside the museum. The children really enjoyed looking at the displays and there is so many interactive toys for them to play with and clothes to dress up in. The staff are excellent, so welcoming and patient with young children. A very good day out, thoroughly recommended, and for anyone who doesn't want to pay to go in the Museum then you can actually go and enjoy the grounds and parking for free. ”

“The toys in the Museum of Childhood really took me back to my days of space hoppers, Slinkys, David Cassidy and pogo sticks! The themed bedrooms really evoked distant memories and it was lovely to look through the toy displays and see toys that I had totally forgotten about.
The house is a nice size – big enough to be grand but small enough to feel like a home and the grounds are lovey. You can even get a horse and carriage ride from the car park.

“Even if you're not a member of the National Trust, you can park up for free and wander around the gorgeous grounds at no cost at all. There's a couple of shops, a wooden play area and the grassy banks overlooking the lakes are ideal for summer picnics. The Museum of Childhood is worth a visit although it could be more interactive for young ones- too many exhibits behind glass.”

“A really nice National Trust property for families to visit, as there is the much-loved Museum of Childhood on site. It's also nice to visit for the grounds, which I believe are still free to enter. The main house is a fine example of a 17th-century stately home. The interior was used as the interior of Pemberley in the 1990s TV adaptation of Pride & Prejudice. ”
