Top brain medics and researchers at conference in city
BRAIN-INJURY experts will travel from across the UK to attend a conference in Derby today.
About 70 doctors, researchers and other professionals will gather at Derby Conference Centre, in London Road, to discuss how new technology can benefit patients.
The conference is being hosted by the Huntercombe Group, a private provider of brain-injury treatment and rehabilitation services.
Key speakers will include Dr Rajiv Singh, honorary senior lecturer at the University of Sheffield, Dr Peter Hutchinson, of Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridgeshire, and Professor Steve Williams, of Kings College London.
David Ackroyd, centre manager for Huntercombe's Nottingham neurodisability service, said Derby was chosen as it was a central location, adding: "It will certainly be a highly-stimulating event, with some fantastic speakers."
