Hinds looking at the bigger picture following solid knock in win

An unbeaten 42 from the West Indian left-hander took the Phantoms to a seven-wicket Twenty20 Cup win and because a low Foxes total meant there was no need to score the runs in a hurry, Hinds took the opportunity to get in a little batting practice on his new home wicket.
Short stays and scores of six and seven in his previous two matches at the County Ground left Hinds (pictured) feeling he still had a need to adjust and he was happy to spend 15 overs in the middle this time.
“It was an easy target,” he said. “We were always in the driver's seat and for me it was a matter of spending time out there.
“The wicket was pretty slow and a bit two-paced, not conducive to strokeplay, and the wind was playing a major part but it's OK.
“You are able to play cricket on it once you get set and make the necessary adjustments.
“It was my first real innings of such length on this wicket, so I pretty much enjoyed it.
“I didn't mind staying out there for a few extra overs getting used to the wicket because I've been out cheaply the first two times I've played on it.
“I've put myself in good stead.”
Derbyshire are in action again today, against Lancashire at Old Trafford (5.30pm).
They have one more home match against Durham on Wednesday night before their final group game at Leicester on Friday.
Beating Leicestershire meant the Phantoms may still take one of the quarter-final places from the group stages but only if they win their remaining three games.
“We have three finals to go before it's quarter-finals time but that's what we've made the situation to be, so we'll just have to deal with it,” added Hinds.
