“No they have not been vindicated. Portsmouth and Rangers have both won something and played in Europe in recent years. Derby have not. Will either Rangers or Pompey go out of business?? No. There will be another stay of execution, another way out. There is always someone who rides in on the proverbial white horse at the last minute to save clubs like these.”

“I'm not too sure MattN77, maybe Rangers may come out of it, but Portsmouth might be better off starting again I reckon! The thing that bothers me is that their ten point deduction will give spawny Forest a glimmer of hope.
Also if Derby were in a similar position do you think someone would ride in on their white horse to save us?”

“Portsmouth won an FA Cup, they had really good, some world class players, now they are up against all sorts of administration and bankruptcy threatening their existence, are they heading the way of Plymouth? or will they come out the other side like Southampton?
The question is, what would you give for an FA cup and a run in europe?”

“I think Daz, at the very worst. Gadsby would buy the club again, not that I would want him here. To be honest, I want to see Pompey and Rangers go out of business completely. It would act as a lesson to all these other clubs like West Ham that keep spending beyond their means. I would also very much enjoy seeing West Ham miss out on promotion. That would make my season!”

“It is annoying though when you see clubs like the Rams try to play by fair rules, and other clubs, like Leicester just get taken over as a rich corporations plaything.
I hope the new rules sort out this situation. Doesn't always work out though look at Blackburn now!”

“There was no need for vindication but, yes, as I have said before, the board are doing things largely in the correct way.
A sound, stable financial footing, such as ours, would be the envy of many a club in the league including many of those above us.
There is too much short-termism bandied about.
I agree with Derby_stu, what would be the point? You'd only have history to look back on, nothing to look forward to. No ambition, no hopes.”

“porstmouth where reckless we need a couple of players or so very different situation are we happy as fan paying 400 plus on a ticket and watching a mid table team we are a big club we should be signing a billy sharp peter whittingham type players.i dont think this board are giving nigel enough money”
Tuesday, February 14 2012, 5:23PM
“we have lost 5000 fans and for me part is down to people struggling for money and some think we lack ambition so what happens glick puts tickets up 10% which is a huge jump in these times when this board are seriously rich.what sums it up is we call tyson a big signing yet at any other top8 club he would be a squad player would like gadsby come in and give nigel some money to get that million pound striker nigel has spoke about”

“Is it not the case that the costs of running football have just spiralled beyond control?
Any other comparable sized business would have been closed down ages ago if they had debt levels anywhere near most footbal clubs. Why is this allowed to continue?
If Derby County have their books in order, then hat off to them.
These other clubs (big/middle) need to get a grip on reality and cut costs. The gate receipts alone cannot keep them afloat, even clubs with such massive following as Rangers and Portsmouth. I note that Celtic have just posted one of their lowest ever profits. How much is their debt and how far is the administrator from their door?
Same for a lot of clubs in England and Wales I'd wager - i.e. just hovering outside??”

“im not bothered about pompey or the jocks, dont want to see any club go under but spending is out of control,im only bothered about the RAMS,we as a club appear to be on the right road financial wise, there is a balance though between being a right tight AR-E and cutting Nige a little slack, giving him a few bob.”

“No, I don't think the lack of proper investment is vindicated by the plight of mis-management at other clubs at all.
The LOG consortium sorted out Derby's finances - GSE are wrongly credited for stablising the club. Debts are down - and they've put SOME money in for sure, but nothing like what they promised.
(ask Gadsby!): http://tinyurl.com/3o6rnvh
If GSE put in the sort of investment they promised when getting control, we would have a team that excited the supporters, rather than merely stopping us slashing our wrists, AND we'd still be living within our means.
GSE = footballing stagnation. Everything else is spin from the silver-tongued Tom Glick.”

“We are in our own footballing recession caused by lack of vision and investment. Other clubs manage real progress. We are now well behind progressive clubs like Wolves, Stoke, Reading, Cardiff, Swansea, Blackpool, West Brom etc How much worse does it need to get before you all WAKE UP before the club dies of nothingness?”

“From day 1 the Yanks have pulled our chain, they promised to invest and they have made false promises ever since and by enlarge supporters keep thinking that they are doing what they say, unfortunately they aren't, they only tell us what we want to hear, so much to say now they have sent out the renew season ticket campaign we hear of yet anothe rmillion pound striker, what just like the last one and the one before, all we get is forever injured reject Tyson on a free from down the A52 !”

“I propose a vote of "No Confidence" in the board at DCFC. This is based on their neutralising of the club and lack of respect for the fans. Stick your season ticket hikes, plaza and 3rd rate journeymen players. This club is about swashbuckling football and playing in the top flight nowt else. Frankly, I would rather they went bust trying than scurrying around in the lower divisions like cockroaches. GSE is suffocatging DCFC. GSE out.”
