“I think the new orange bags are stupid . I put mine out in the morning and it was chucking it down with rain so everything in it was wet through and when i went to get my new bag it was blowing with some others all down the street . So dangerous blowing in the pathway of cars etc . I cant see any sense or reason in the change to orange bags .I bet it was a stupid bloke sitting in an office bored out of his brain and thought "i know . i will give everyone bright orange plastic bags "bloody ridiculous.”

“Why not have the brown bins for card and a smaller bin (like the old blue boxes) for food waste?
The orange bags hold very little. I now have 3 to take out as everything seems to come in cardboard these days.
Our brown bin is nearly empty after 4 weeks of never being emptied.
To be honest if something is not done soon I will start putting everything in the black bin.”

“Mine wasn't emptied last time - in general I generate quite a lot of food waste. I though it wasn't emptied due to me putting the food waste in a cardboard box and then putting it in the brown bin (admittably meaning that someone would have to empty the cardboard box at wherever it ends up).
I've since resorted to chucking it all in the black bin. I still use the naff bag for cardboard as I don't mind recycling at all but it appears that the council want to make it as difficult as possible.”

“Have to admit I am rather glad I only have a black bin, it would be emptied every week if I put it out but as it takes up to 12 weeks to fill it and it only goes out when it's full so it goes out 4 to 6 times a year. But then we don't eat ready meals or pizzas so no cardboard waste, buy meat and vegetables in the Market Hall so no plastic packaging either and can't afford to waste food so only cook enough to feed us.”

“we don't seem to have your garbage problems over here, we get 3 bins (1 small for every day rubbish, one for garden waste grass clippings etc. and one for recycling stuff like bottles tin cans paper anything recycleable). the small waste bin is picked up every week by the truck (one man operation) the others are picked up and emptied alternate weeks also by a "one man operation, he drives the truck and the bins are picked up and emptied automaticly without him getting out of the drivers seat, quick easy and clean. mike.”

“Yes - our brown bin was less than a quarter full last week and it wasn't emptied. Thankfully, at least the cold has meant the food waste in it is frozen, rather than rotting.”
