Why does the taxpayer fund union staff wages?
DID you know that taxpayers are paying £113 million a year to fund trade union activities in the civil service?
Take the Department for Work and Pensions. It has 272 staff working full-time for trade unions. The HMRC has 169 full-time staff.
Even Birmingham City Council has 70 full-time staff working for the unions.
No wonder trade unions can give millions of pounds to the Labour Party.

Don't forget the police. They have 200 full-time staff working for the unions. This amounts to many millions of pounds which should be used to benefit the people of this country.
I wonder how many more union staff work in different industries, which we have not heard about and how many more millions are lost.
Unions should pay for their staff, not the British taxpayer.

“Its strange, I am a Union Rep and I am paid by the Union when I am on Union Duties. I do get paid by the Company I work for when I am in a meeting with the Companyand this is all laid out in law inso much of who pays what,
It is in the Companies interest to have Union involvement to the day to day contact with staff in regards to Terms and Conditions of Contracts etc. I work for a Company with over 2500 employees spread between here and London. Imagine how much time, effort and money would have to be spent dealing individually with all employees who are now covered by the Colective Bargaing agreements between Union and Companies.
A lot of Companies have excellent working relations with Unions. In truth it scares the Tories and Union bashers that most Companies and Unions get on well”
