WATCHING TV's Secret Millionaire on March 8 was so moving.

I shared Paul Ragan's awe at the incredible sacrifices made by those who care for sick or disabled family members.

His experience highlighted the need for more support for some of the most dedicated members of society.

I work for a charity called Vitalise, which runs the New Horizons Day Centre in Derby.

We help disabled people lead fulfilling lives and give family carers much-needed respite.

Clancy Walker, the lady with Huntingdon's disease whose family received a cheque from Paul, is a regular user of our service.

Clancy would be the first to tell you what a difference such services make to the lives of disabled people and their families in the region.

As a charity we rely on the support of the public to keep our services going but you don't have to be a millionaire to make a difference!

To find out how you can help, visit www.vitalise.org.uk.

Nicola Barnes,

Vitalise New Horizons, Derby.
