LOWLY accountant Wesley Gibson (James McAvoy) is trapped in a dead-end job and destined for heartbreak with a harridan girlfriend (Kristen Hager).
During a visit to the local pharmacy, Wesley meets sexy stranger Fox (Angelina Jolie). "Your father died yesterday... he was one of the greatest assassins who ever lived," she purrs, just before a hired killer (Thomas Kretschmann) attempts to put a bullet through Wesley's head.
The office worker escapes thanks to Fox's quick reactions and together they venture to the secret stronghold of the Fraternity – a society of assassins descended from weavers, under the leadership of Sloan (Morgan Freeman).
In order to fulfil his destiny, Wesley must train under Fox and her associates – Gunsmith (Common), The Repairman (Marc Warren), The Butcher (Bakhtadze) and The Exterminator (Konstantin Khabensky) – but all is not what it seems.
