I feel ripped off after five minutes parking cost £6
LAST week, for the first time in my 66 years, I went to Derby train station to purchase two advanced tickets.
On entering the car park, I noted one could park for a maximum of 10 minutes when dropping off. Thinking I may be longer, I parked in a bay. At ticket sales, there was no queue and I got them straight away.
When I put my car park ticket in the machine, I thought someone was having a laugh. My entry time on the car park ticket read 11.33am. Exit time: 11.38am. That's five minutes exactly and you pay £6. The people that run this rip-off must be desperate for our cash.
It would be interesting to know how many readers have been caught out by this or any other form of legalised robbery.

."If only there were signs displaying the cost of parking in the car park, then you would have known beforehand how much it would cost. Oh, wait, there are!
Did you book your train tickets without asking the price in advance? I doubt it. So why not
It gets better, on both ticket pay machines there are 2 A4 size posters stating that if you have not been there more than half an hour, to drive straight to the exit barrier to get out with no payment required.
He also states that it said pick up point was for 10 minutes. Another clue he missed. He wasnt picking any one up so he should have parked in the Stations short stay car park where it is 50p to Park. The North Car Park is primarily a long stay car park.
So Mr Redfern, instead of writing in sarcastic letters, take some responsibilities for your actions and read the signs.
And on the point of pick up from the station, the clue is in the title. Pick up passenger when he as arrived at station not arrive 30 mins early and park there waiting. The only time you have an excuse to stay there longer is if train is late, otherwise park in short stay car park. When the Station front is finished, I predict that busses will not to be able to get to stops because people are too lazy to park in the designated areas”

“Indeed and £12.50 for a day is robbery too
I can park on the outskirts of London in a similar Network Rail owned car park to catch the tube in for £4.50 a day, why is it £12.50 in Derby?”
