Pearson reckons the Rams got what they deserved in defeat

STEPHEN Pearson admitted Derby County got what they deserved against Doncaster Rovers.

The Rams' four-game unbeaten run was ended by a 2-0 defeat at Pride Park on Saturday. Midfielder Pearson said: "We're disappointed, obviously. We've been playing well for the last couple of weeks and we were looking forward to the game.

"I can't put my finger on why we didn't perform but we got what we deserved in the end – nothing.

"After they got the goal, they shut up shop and defended well for large spells of the game.

"If we had equalised, it would have changed the game completely but we didn't create a lot of clear-cut opportunities.

"On another day, something might have broken for us but it wasn't to be this time."

Pearson felt Derby improved in the second half, following the introduction of strike pair Rob Hulse and Chris Porter.

He added: "I thought when Hulsey and Ports came on, we created a bit more playing from back to front but it just didn't happen for us.

"It was Doncaster's day and we've now got to move on to the next game."
