Transfer talk: Chelsea, Manchester United, Newcastle United, Sunderland

Tuesday, August 19, 2008, 14:00

TRANSFER speculation suggests AC Milan are willing to sell Kaka but they want a pretty hefty £70m for their man.

They claim that a bid of that size would be too good to turn down, and Milan have told Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich as much.

However, apparently Chelsea manager Luiz Felipe Scolari would much prefer to bring Robinho in, and given the other Brazilian has a much more reasonable price tag of a bargain £35m, it's probably more likely to happen.

It's been claimed that Newcastle United are offering striker Michael Owen a new contract.

And it's claimed that Owen's new weekly wage could be £140,000-a-week.

Newcastle are linked with Real Madrid's Javier Saviola and Blackburn Rovers' Stephen Warnock.

It's believed Manchester United are going to make a new bid for Dimitar Berbatov and if that fails then Roque Santa Cruz will be their target.

Sunderland are reported to be ready to spend £15m on Benni McCarthy, Anton Ferdinand and Michael Ball.
