LONDON Mayor Boris Johnson is once again speaking out of his Tory-topped privileged backside when he said that there was a real need to destroy or, as he puts it, "cull the 10,000 foxes that dwell in London".

Humans are the planet's worst killers and enemy.

It was a terrible tragedy that befell the youngsters in their own beds but it must be an extremely rare event for these creatures to react against humans in this way.

Knee-jerk reactions should never be adhered to, as it is emotional and potent at the time but later on common sense and logic will prevent any violent actions from taking place.

Would one demand the death of millions of bees because somebody was badly stung by one? If so, then without pollination of plants, it wouldn't be long before the human race became extinct, not forgetting the making of honey.

The humble fox is part of this planet and has a natural right to live despite its bad reputation.

Let's not give the Tory party an excuse to change the law and release the hounds.

“I travel to work each morning at 05:45 and have close range encounters with probably a dozen foxes of varying age. After a few second's eye to eye contact we wend our merry way. I wish I could say the same about the folk who own dogs with spiked collars called 'Satan' or similar who don't own a pet- they own a weapon. No cries for culling them, though. Annoy a wild animal, take the consequence. I walked the fields with my dad at an early age and learned that. Nowadays anyone whose life is spent in front of a PC or X-box all day and gets a rare attack from a feral animal wants global retribution, much to the Fox hunter's delight. I've been bitten as a child by dogs n' hogs, and once had a magpie in my bedroom at age 6. serves me right for having a window open. Got a bit cut and spooked, but didn't have my parents calling for a global cull. Those children were unfortunate and I wish them a speedy recovery, but the newspaper article by it's very nature showed the rarity of the incident. We need a little better perspective, preferably not fuelled by the fees for the story and photos.”

“I only had to read the first paragraph to hazzard a guess who had written it, and I was right. Stick to the facts Joe, and fewer personal insults and your opinions might, just might, hold a little more credibility. I can't make any promises though. I don't belieeeeve it...!”
