Notes: Hilton village is situated on the old Derby to Uttoxeter road. Hilton village has several pubs including the 15th century Old Talbot inn and the more modern Hilton Hotel. The present village hall opened in 1989, and a Wesleyan Methodist Chapel in the Main Street was built in 1841 and is still a thriving place of worship. Hilton has recently expanded into a large commuter village populated by people working for Toyota, Rolls-Royce or commuting to Derby, Nottingham or the West Midlands, and although the local school is being expanded to be able to manage with the new numbers, other local services are struggling to cope.

Transport: Regular buses run from Hilton to Derby and Burton upon Trent. There is no railway station at Hilton, the nearest being Tutbury, Willington or Burton. Taxi - Mickleover Cars Sutton Lane Industrial Estate, Sutton Lane, Hilton, Derby, DE65 5FE

Medical: The doctor's surgery in Hilton is Wellbrook Medical Centre on Welland Road. The village hall on Peacroft Lane is currently being extended and it is hoped there will be a dentist's surgery open there by the end of the year.

Sport: Hilton has a very successful football club, Hilton Harriers. It has over 19 teams for the 2008/9 season catering for everyone from five years up to the adult team. Over 250 children play for Hilton Harriers teams in the Burton and Derby Leagues. Hilton Cricket Club runs nine teams from quick cricket upwards. The three senior teams play in the Derbyshire County Cricket Leagues.
