GREAT HOTEL, FRIENDLY WELCOMING STAFF - FANTASTIC HOLIDAY!
“ Although this is a coaching holiday hotel, my husband and I in our late twenties chose this hotel for the location and it was reasonable in cost. I am so pleased we did! we have travelled all over the world and to date this is actually one of the most relaxing fun holidays we have had. The family run hotel is so friendly, the rooms are clean and a good size ours even had a view of the sea which was nice, the garden is a lovely place to sit and have a relax and there is a private path down to the harbour at the bottom. The week we went was a themed 60's one which I have to be honest wasnt my thing, but we went into the bar a few nights after we came back from town or days out and we had a great time!! Food was brilliant, entertainment was fantastic!! All in all looking forward to going back next year!! ”

The Howden Court is a happy, friendly, family run hotel in the centre of Torquay. The hotel is ideal for families, the grounds are large and lead onto our private pathway to Torquay seafront and Torquay Harbour.
The full programme of entertainment makes the bar a great fun place to be in the evenings and it's a nice way to meet new friends. Note that the hotel reception, bar, dining room, lounge and garden are all on the ground level - no steps!
We regularly run theme weeks such as 1940's, 1960's Turkey and Tinsel etc. Through the summer months we are the idea location for family fun!
Dining is a pleasure in the spacious restaurant. Our full English breakfast sets you up well so that you can explore Torquay and other places of interest. We also have a varied evening meal menu.
Our chef is happy to cater for any special diets.
Our chef prides himself on the quality of food served on the guests table along with the standard of cleanliness he maintains in the Hotel kitchen - please feel free to inspect the kitchen (escorted by management for H & S reasons).
For something different, try one of our 'Cruise' weeks. The hotel visits a different destination each day ie France, Spain, Italy, India, U.K. and the chef includes for some national dishes to compliment the flags, bunting, posters etc that help to dress up the theme.
The bar comes alive at night. There is a real wood dancefloor for you to shake off some of those extra's pounds after eating the chef's specials. It's a great way to meet new friends or just take in the atmosphere.
You can walk directly to the patio through the bar doors - enjoy a drink and a chat outside on the sun patio. Chairs, tables, loungers are at the ready.
The bar becomes the meeting place for guests during the evening time with live entertainment, bingo and quizzies all adding to the enjoyment while staying at Howden Court Hotel so relaxing you could stay forever....
