IT is looking increasingly likely that all local non-League football matches this weekend will be postponed owing to the adverse weather conditions.

Borrowash Victoria’s fourth round FA Vase clash at home to Berkshire side Ascot United was an early casualty and the tie has provisionally been rescheduled for next Saturday, January 26.

Alfreton Town’s visit to Telford United was still on as of Friday evening, with Telford saying their pitch was playable and appealing for volunteers to help with snow clearing.

Games that were due to involve Ilkeston, Matlock Town, Belper Town, Gresley, Long Eaton United, Holbrook Sports and Graham Street Prims were definitely off yesterday but there was no confirmation either way with regard to Mickleover Sports’ home game against Chasetown.

Meanwhile, in basketball, Derby Trailblazers’ EBL Division One game against Hemel Storm, scheduled to be played at Moorways on Saturday night, has become a victim of the weather.

Hemel requested a postponement, believing that travelling up to the county could be too hazardous. The Trailblazers agreed to this and the game will be rescheduled.

Trailblazers’ Division Three and Division Four games at home at Noel-Baker School tomorrow are also postponed.
