TAKE That's Howard Donald has told of his "love" for the world-famous Donington Park race track.

The 44-year-old singer and DJ was at the circuit to take part in a track day in his silver Porsche 356, dating back to the 1950s.

Graham Clarke, managing director of RMA Track Days, said: "Howard is a really nice, down-to-earth guy who has been to a number of our days before.

"The car he has got is a beautiful silver Porsche from 1953 or 52."

Howard, who found fame alongside Gary Barlow and Robbie Williams, Mark Owen and Jason Orange, is well known for his love of cars, recently buying a Mustang V8, made famous by Steve McQueen in the 1968 classic Bullitt, for £40,000.

His Porsche is also a rare vehicle, as Graham explained: "There were only about 40 people working for the company when the car was built.

"It was a real small business back then.

"They are quick cars, the engines aren't huge, maybe a 1.6, but there is nothing to them.

"I have never seen one used in the way Howard uses his. I wouldn't be surprised if Porsche would like to have it back to put in their museum."

And Howard is not the only famous name that Graham caters for at the track days.

He said: "We go all over the UK and Europe and have a quite a few famous faces.

"Jay Kay, from Jamiroquai, who is probably one of the biggest petrol heads, has been on our track days."

Kirk Rothwell, Donington Park's marketing and communications executive, said: "We're delighted that Howard decided to attend one of the track days here at Donington Park and hope he decides to visit us again soon."
