BREAKING NEWS: Lib Dems triumph in Darley

Thursday, July 24, 2008, 23:25

THE Lib Dems are celebrating tonight after their candidate John Paul Keane won the by-election in Darley.

It means the party now has 19 seats on the city council, increasing the gap between Labour who have 17 seats.

The by-election was called after independent councillor Wendy Harbon was ousted from the council in June after she failed to turn up to enough meetings.
