Community hall in grants boost

A COMMUNITY group has received a boost to its campaign to raise cash to build a new village hall.

Parwich Memorial Hall's management committee needs £868,000 for the building.

In December, it was awarded a £500,000 grant by the Big Lottery Fund. The committee has now received two more grants, one for £5,000 from an anonymous charitable trust, and another for £2,000 from a successful application to the Rank Foundation – which hands out grants to community projects.

The committee has now raised £774,115 in total. Anyone who wishes to donate should e-mail parwich@hotmail.co.uk.
