Saturday, June 28, 2008, 07:30

PUPILS at a Derbyshire school have been taking part in a modern languages awareness day.

The youngsters, aged 11 to 14, learnt about Spanish, Cantonese, Russian, Swahili, Japanese and Italian at Ockbrook School.

The day began with a screening of a French film, Le Chateau de Ma Mere, which was followed by pupils attending language taster sessions.

Activities included learning greetings and numbers.
