Latest zero-budget film features Derby locations
Tom Wadlow, who studied film and video at the University of Derby, before refining his skills at Universal Studios in LA, has completed his second zero-budget short film of 2009, called The Musician.
It follows the success of The Apartment which attracted 140 people to its premiere at the University of Derby earlier this year.
The 29-year-old's latest film is 15 minutes long and the majority of it was shot at The Old Bell Hotel and Big Blue Cafe in Sadler Gate.
Derby Conference Centre, in London Road, Dub:Rek Music Studios, in Monk Street, and Right Advice Ltd, in Vernon Street, were also used to shoot the film, which follows a journalist writing an article about a musician, Jeff Scott, as he battles his addiction to music.
The cast includes Derby actor Shameer Madarbakus, from Calendar Girls, EastEnders and Holby City, as well as Alvaston actress Buckso Dhillon, who has worked on Coronation Street.
The film, produced by Tom's Light Films Production company, is due to be premiered in September at a venue yet to be confirmed.
