Police arrest bike thieves after chase through gardens

THIEVES broke into a cycle and scooter store before being chased down and arrested by police.

Officers were called to Moore Large & Co on Sinfin Lane Industrial Estate at 8.20pm, yesterday.

Two thieves made their escape when they saw the police.

They tried to get away by running through gardens on Thackeray Street.

After a 10 minute chase police cornered and arrested them.

A police spokeswoman said: "Two males from the Derby area were arrested.

"They had stolen 12 push cycles all of which have been recovered.

"We are not looking for any other suspects."
