Fixing the X Factor twins' hairstyles

Saturday, November 21, 2009, 07:30

X FACTOR twins John and Edward had the finishing touches put to their wacky hair by a young Derby stylist.

Chloe Skinner, who works at Sally Montague Hair and Beauty, was given access-all-areas clearance in the singers' dressing rooms before they stepped out on stage on Saturday.

The 19-year-old helped her auntie, who works as a hair stylist on The X Factor, to get stars including Stacey Soloman and Joe McElderry ready for the ITV1 show.

Her handiwork was seen by millions of viewers as the show was broadcast live. She will work on the stars' hair again tonight.

Chloe, who perfects her art at salons in Iron Gate and St Peter's Churchyard, said she was thrilled at the opportunity to meet the stars.

She said: "I was watching it last week and one thing I noticed was that one of the twins' quiffs was really big and the other's wasn't as large.

"I'm going to try and sort that out and see if I can get them both looking the same. It's probably John and Edward that I'm most looking forward to meeting.

"A lot of people don't really like them so it'll be interesting to see what they're like in real life – I think they will be really nice guys."

Chloe was given the opportunity to work on The X Factor after her auntie, Alisha Dobson, arranged for her to spend the weekend helping her out on the show.

Chloe started working at Sally Montague Hair and Beauty a year ago.

The former Bemrose Community School pupil was given a briefing by X Factor bosses about the theme of the programme.

And she said she hoped to get a glimpse of X Factor judges Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole, Dannii Minogue and Louis Walsh.

Chloe, of Gerard Street, Derby, said: "My auntie has had her picture taken with Simon's bodyguard, so I might try and get a photo with him.

"It would be amazing if I got to meet the judges themselves – I don't know if I will but I'm going to try.

"All my friends are really pleased for me and they've given me a big list of photos to try and take. I think I'll have my camera in my hand most of the time."

She added: "My auntie has worked on The X Factor and Britain's Got Talent so for her, it will be just like a normal day but I've never done anything like it.

"I'm really nervous about it but I'm excited as well – opportunities like this don't come along every day."
