I AM objecting to the proposed factory pig farm in Foston.

I am totally opposed to factory pig farms and my concerns are for the following reasons:

1. The abuse of animals: the vast majority of intensive pig farms in the EU routinely break animal welfare regulations by, for example, keeping pigs on bare concrete slats and confining mother pigs for four months a year in narrow stalls.

2. Pollution: intensive pig farms pollute the air with toxic bio-aerosols and contaminate waterways.

3. They wreck rural communities: huge industrialised farms are able to undercut local small-holders

4. They threaten our health: research proves that the over-use of antibiotics in pig farming is a major cause of diseases such as MRSA.
