STREETS in Heanor are to be re-paved to make the town more attractive to shoppers.

Improvements will also be made to signs and empty shops made brighter in a project which aims to provide a better link between the town centre and the nearby retail park.

Work will cover a section of Heanor between Derby Road and Market Street.

The re-paving project will take about 10 weeks. The council will write to home owners and businesses before work begins outside their properties.

Amber Valley Borough Council is taking a lead in the project.
