£230,000 revamp at bar to create jobs
A DERBY bar is creating 10 extra jobs as a result of a £230,000 revamp.
The Slug And Lettuce in Iron Gate is currently closed for the refurbishment, which includes new interior decor, furniture, lighting and bar area.
A courtyard at the back of the bar, which is owned by the Stonegate Pub Company, will also be transformed to offer alfresco dining.
General manager Richard Bardsley said: "The exterior will remain discreet in line with the historic nature of the street but inside customers will be wowed by the difference. The new bar design is stylish and contemporary but will feel warm and inviting."
